Rules

1. Don't be an idiot.
2. Don't be a bitch.

Consequences: If you break a rule, we will hire someone in your hometown to kick your ass.

Okay, so no...those aren't REALLY the rules. Unfortunately, even the very best group of RPers needs slightly more defined guidelines than that. Also, we can't afford to have players' asses kicked that frequently.

Note: If it's not covered in the rules and Rule #10 has failed to give you the proper direction to go in (as it sometimes will), ask a mod. We're more than happy to answer any questions you've got, and we're always just an email or an IM away.

The Actual Rules

1. No godmodding. You can't decide what anybody's characters do but yours.

2. OOC does not equal IC. Remember that you are PLAYING a CHARACTER, not BEING YOURSELF. Keep your personal opinions out of your character interactions, and remember that your character doesn't know everything you know.

3. IC does not equal OOC. That means that if bad things happen to your character, don't take it personally, and if people don't like your character it doesn't mean they don't like YOU.

4. IC does equal IC. If your character does something in the game, expect the same logical consequences that would operate in the real world to operate in this world as well.

5. Seriously, don't be a bitch. Remember that this is a game. It is not your job. It is not your school. It is not your family. It is not anything in this world that is actually important. It's not worth getting pissed off over, or pissing anyone else off. Take a minute and think before you say whatever angry thing might cross your mind someday.

6. Now, while it is true that this is just a game and it's not all that important, try to make some space in your busy life for it, yeah? We have no time to be your mama and stay on your back and send e-mails all the time about "Trixie, we haven't seen The Nancy Drew around lately..."
Activity goes like this:
- The school project requires that everyone put up a journal entry once every two weeks. So, by the end of every other Friday, your character needs to have his or her journal entry up.
- Once a month, there will be a small Special Assignment required. Characters can do it any time over the course of the month, but it's due by the end.
- RPs and additional entries are left to your own discretion. It's kind of hard to advance character interaction without actually RPing with people, so we're just going to assume you're smart enough to know that and not give you a bunch of rules on that.

7. Posting guidelines:
- The premise states that these are online journals. That means that you've got all the lol and wtf and :) that you want. The administration has made it clear that journal assignments are to be graded on content only, not on grammar and usage. Remember that how you write is a character choice, too - some characters will use excessive emoticons, some will spell like crap, and some will be pointedly correct at all times. (In RPs, where the spelling is NOT IC, we expect you to write like an adult who knows where the commas go.)
- Given that these are online journals, you obviously can't strike through things. However, you can use a strikethrough to signify text that your character started to type and then backspaced over/deleted.
- Journal posts may be filtered, just as with livejournal. As with livejournal, posts must be filtered as a whole - either to a specific group, public, or private. You can't chop one up so bits are filtered and others are not. If you want to switch filters, you'll have to do a new post.
- Pictures may be posted, but must be behind a cut.
- Post RPs in the main community
- This game is rated R. Keep anything you post in the main community in line with that rating. That means No Explicit Sex. RP whatever you like, but whatever you POST for everybody to read needs to be at R or below.
- We don't so much care exactly what format you post your RPs in, but it should be something along these lines:
Characters: Your Mom and Your Dad
Setting: Their House, Tuesday Evening
Summary: Your Mom and Your Dad eat dinner, and it is delicious.
Rating: G
Warnings: Pot Roast (When giving warnings, it is best to err on the side of caution

(Cut text of your choice which will take us to the actual RP)

8. No PB changes. Pick the one you want at the beginning and stick with him/her. Unless there is some vastly compelling reason why you MUST change, forget it. If you have such a vastly compelling reason, feel free to approach a mod about it. Also, we have the right to say no to any PB. Please make them actually look their actual age. Therefore, no Johnny Depps trying to pass as juniors.

9. There is no rule #9.

10. Use the sense the powers that be bestowed upon you.
